Born in the Dominican Republic bachata is derived from rhythmic bolero and merengue and Cuban rythms . Maracas in bachata Bolero is replaced by the calabash.

Influence on Society

The Bachata wasn’t accepted by the wealthy population, and now is not completely accepted it is still seen as a low class dance but not like before.

Influence on Fashion

Romeo Santos is one of the most influential bachata singers. His hear cut has been a symbol for bachata fashion even Prince Royce has the same haircut.
