Punk has always been about doing things your own way. What it represents for me is ultimate freedom and sense of individuality.

Most Important Artists

From the Sex Pistols to Green Day, here are the most important artists in the history of Punk.

Punk Rock

The mixture of Punk and Emo developed what we nowadays know as Punk Rock, a genre that mixes the essence of Punk with the melodies of Emo. It is called ‘Sophisticated Punk’.

A Brief History of Punk

The first punk scene was the one in New York during the mid 70s. The club CBGB, in the Bowery District, was the place where bands like Ramones (fathers of Punk), The Clash or Blondie would be playing. All these bands shared musical influences, but they would all develop their own styles later on. At the same time, in London, Punk was starting to get bigger and bigger.

Influence on Society

Punk songs were often famous for their anti-establishment and liberal charge, which went from advocating of civil rights to communism to anarchy. Bands defended total freedom and human rights, standing against homophobe, racism or sexism. They believed in anarchies and communist systems and rejected capitalism.
