It all started with Malcolm McClaren’s store called SEX. This man had recently been in the US, where he had been trying to sell his clothing lines through the New York Dolls. When he went back to London he tried again but this time with a new strategy that would consist on looking at the youth in the streets. He created the Sex Pistols aesthetic, which became really popular soon.
