From Eric Clapton to the Bee Gees, here are the most important artists in the history of Soft Rock.

A Brief History of Soft Rock

In the 60s, Rock was divided into soft and hard rock. Soft Rock was a genre that came from folk rock; they used acoustic instruments and gave a lot of importance to the melody and the vocal harmonies.

Soft Rock is not so focused on social and political issues, like Hard Rock; but on daily topics and problems among the themes of love, breakups…

It reached its climax during the mid and late 70s with artists like Elton John or Billy Joel. In the 80s, radios played a lot of Soft Rock, with bands like Journey.
