Mecano was a Spanish pop band formed by Ana Torroja and brothers Nacho and José María Cano. in 1981 and active until 1992 (they had a brief comeback in 1998)
The band is still the best-selling Spanish band to this date, reaching over 25 million albums worldwide.
Mecano´s musical career had two different stages. The first, up to 1985, was essentially as a synthpop band; while on the second one Mecano followed a more acoustic pop rock direction.
Some of their biggest number one singles are 'Me cuesta tanto olvidarte', 'La fuerza del destino', 'Hijo de la luna', 'Cruz de navajas', 'Mujer contra mujer' or 'El 7 de Septiembre'.
Hombres G is a Spanish pop rock band, formed in Spain in 1982 by David Summers, Rafael Gutierrez, Dani Mezquita, and Javi Molina.
Hombres G were formed during La Movida Madrileña. Their sound was influenced by the early Beatles. They had a lot of success with the release of "Devuélveme a mi chica"in 1985(one of the most important Spanish songs ever).
In 1992, Hombres G went on hiatus because David pursued a solo career, Rafa and Dani remained involved in the music industry, and Javi devoted time to his bar in Madrid.
The group reconvened in 2002 and released 'Peligrosamente Juntos'.
Los Secretos is a pop-rock Spanish group formed by Álvaro Urquijo, Ramón Arroyo, Jesús Redondo, Juanjo Ramos y Santi Fernández in the 80s who is still active.
They have been related to the 'movida madrileña' although they prefer to say that they were created under the influence of the 'british new wave'.

Alaska+Dinarama was a Spanish pop group formed by Alaska, Carlos Berlanga and Nacho Canut.
They sang between 1982 and 1989 and they have sold more than 5.000.000 albums. Their biggests success are probably 'A quién le importa' and 'Ni tú ni nadie'.
After releasing their last CD, they went on a tour. In one of the concerts Nacho and Carlos had a strong fight in the dressing rooms and Carlos left the stage in the middle of the show, putting an end to this group.
Carlos started a career on his own until he died and Nacho and Alaska formed the group that is still active 'Fangoria'.
Melendi is one of the most famous pop Spanish singers.
In 2001, he joined a group called "El bosque de Sherwood" and in February 2003, Melendi released his first solo CD called "Sin noticias de Holanda",However, he reached fame when the 2004 Vuelta a España chose his song "Con la luna llena" as its official theme.
In 2007, he stood trial for provoking an incident while under the influence of alcohol on a flight from Madrid to Mexico City. (This has made him quite controversial)
