Coldplay are a British pop-rock band formed in 1996 by Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland. After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish.Will Champion joined them and the band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998.

They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000. 

The band have won  8 Brit Awards, 5 MTV Video Music Awards and 7 Grammy Awards. Coldplay have sold more than 80 million records worldwide.

In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s.

Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. 

Before the group was formed, the original four members of the 1994 band were known as Kara's Flowers  and consisted of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick. The band, which self-released an album, then got back to their studies.

In 2001, the band changed its image by adding guitarist James Valentine and calling themselves Maroon 5. 

In 2006, Dusick officially left Maroon 5 after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn. 

Maroon 5 has sold more than 27 million albums and 48 million singles worldwide.

OneRepublic is an American pop rock band formed in 1996 by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins.

In 2005, they made their first album. The album was planned to be released on June 6, 2006, but the group was left alone by their company two months before the album came out. The lead single of that album, "Apologize", was released in 2005. 

'Chasing stars' has been also one of their most successful songs. It has also peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, matching their highest peak of "Apologize" in 2007.

The Police was an English rock band formed in London in 1977.  The band consisted of Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland.

The Police is seen as one of the first new wave groups to achieve mainstream success, playing a style of rock that was influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. They are also considered one of the leaders of the Second British Invasion of the U.S. They went on hiatus in 1986, but reunited in early 2007 for a world tour that ended in August 2008.

The band has won 6 Grammy Awards and 2 Brit Awards and in 2003 were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 

Four of their five studio albums appeared on Rolling Stone‍ '​s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The Police were included among both Rolling Stone‍ '​s and VH1's lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (known as Lady Gaga) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her self-empowering messages, fashion, and live performances.

Gaga initially performed in theatre but then she pursued a musical career. After leaving a rock band, Gaga worked as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing. There, Akon noticed her abilities and helped her to sign a joint deal with a company.

She is one of the best-selling musicians of all time. She has won 13 Guinness World Records, 6 Grammy Awards, and a Songwriters Hall of Fame's Contemporary Icon Award.

She regularly appears on Billboard‍ '​s Artists of the Year. In 2013, Time listed Gaga as one of the Most Influential People of the Decade. 

Alecia Beth Moore (P!nk) is an American singer and songwriter. She was a member of the girl group Choice, but she rose to fame as an R&B artist with her debut solo album, 'Can't Take Me Home' in 2000.

She became more famous with the Moulin Rouge song "Lady Marmalade", which gave Pink her first Grammy Award as well as her first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Pink took more artistic control and pursued pop rock direction for her second album,

She has sold over 136 million records worldwide. She has sold over 16 million albums in the United States and received  3 Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, and 6 MTV Video Music Awards.

In 2009, Billboard recognized Pink as the Pop Songs Artist of the Decade. 

Miley Ray Cyrus is an American singer, songwriter, and actress.

She became a teen idol for the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana in 2006.

She then started a singing career. In 2010, she released her third album 'Can't Be Tamed' (lowest-selling record of her career).

Cyrus focused on her acting career with several television and film appearances in 2011 and 2012. However, her sexually-explicit behavior generated a lot of controversy.

Cyrus has had 5 number-one records on the U.S. Billboard 200 with her studio albums.

Cyrus ranked number 13 on Forbes‍ '​ Celebrity 100 in 2010, and in 2013 was declared "Artist of the Year" by MTV.
