Pop music comes from the pop culture.
Popular culture or pop culture is the whole of ideas, perspectives, attitudes and images within the mainstream of a culture (especially the Western culture of the 20th and 21st century).
It is very influenced by mass media and this type of ideas is shown in everyday lives of society.
According to John Storey, there are many definitions for 'pop culture'.
'Pop culture' is defined as the culture that is 'left over' when we have already decided what high culture is.
Another definition says that 'pop culture' is the same as 'mass culture'. This means that it is a commercial culture, mas-pruduced by mass media.
Alternatively, 'pop culture' can be seen as 'an authentic' culture of the people, but this is problematic because there are many types of people.
Storey says that 'popular culture comes from the urbanization of the Industrial Revolution'.
The problem with popular culture is that it changes constantly and occurs in a certain place and time.
