A brief history of Spanish Pop
.
In the 50s, rock music arrived to Spain and in the 50s, 60s and 70s a lot of Spanish groups started to mix pop and rock such as 'Los brincos' or 'Los bravos'.
In the 80s and 90s, these groups started to completely differentiate between pop and rock.
A lot of groups stayed loyal to rock but many of them started to become pop artists (also thanks to the 'movida madrileña') such as Radio Futura, Hombres G or Nacha pop.
In the 90s and 2000, apart from those groups, other groups emerged such as Fangoria (electronic pop), La oreja de Van Gogh (traditional or commercial pop), Iván Ferreiro (punk pop) and solo artists such as Malú, Melendi or David Bisbal, all of them with influences of pop-rock.
