A brief history of Reggae
It is a genre that has a unique bouncing music with the sticky beat and an emphasis on bass and percussion. Is influenced by the early development of Hip Hop. It was developed in Jamaica in the late 1960s.
The pioneers of reggue are musicians like Jackie Mittoo and Winston Wright, who featured in traditional singles like Say What You´re Saying.
Bob Marley says that the word reggae comes from the Spanish term the king´s music. The latin regi means to the king.
