A brief history of Pop-rock
Recor labels (who wanted to earn all the money they could) thought that it would be better to have stable singers with the talent of those rock and roll singers and with a music that was not too hard nor too soft, giving birth to pop-rock.
When the second world war ended, music expanded, mostly rock and roll.
However, rock and roll did not last long because of a series of some events:
Elvis Presley enlisted in the army.
Jerry Lee Lewis was accused of corruption.
Chuck Berry got into jail.
Other rock and roll stars died.
Pop rock is a musical genre that mixes the melodies and lyrics of pop with elements of rock such as electric guitars or a stronger beat. There are a lot of possible definitions for pop-rock. Some people think is a softer way to do rock and others, like us, think is a pop subgenre.
Also pop-rock can be used to describe that type of music that is both pop and rock (usually mainstream).
